Here are a few examples of how we’ve helped our clients connect with students in meaningful ways.

Lyft

Assignment:

Lyft recently entered the Canadian market through Toronto. Amplify was tasked with driving brand awareness, downloads and first rides in major universities throughout Ontario.

Plan:

Amplify created an integrated digital and on-campus campaign, pairing Lyft with influencers that have strong reach and engagement in the Province. Our influencers represented Lyft on-campus during Frosh week, engaging students throughout campus with free rides and merch. Simultaneously, Amplify ran a digital influencer campaign, having influencers showcase the Lyft experience and offer free rides to their peers. The content was channelled through 4+ social platforms in order to maximize reach within different demographics and social spheres.

Impact:

Amplify drove 5000+ App activations at 5 Ontario universities, this was one of Lyft’s highest converting campaigns of 2018.

Molson

Assignment:

Molson wanted to inspire fresh excitement around their Old Style Pilsner brand. Amplify was tasked with driving sampling of Pilsner and starting an engaged brand dialogue on-campuses across Canada.

Plan:

Amplify partnered with student influencers which effectively represented the Pilsner brand, sending out merch and product for them to showcase on social, discussing the upcoming sampling. Influencers attended the sampling, showcasing the experience, incentivizing sharing from those who came by. After the event, influencers continued activating with Pilsner in their private homes, sharing the brand with their peers in a natural and influential manner.

Impact:

Surpassed sampling targets by 20%, drove 750,000 impressions on social, over 50% of which came organically.

Ellison Sunglasses

Assignment:

Ellison built a strong brand presence in the U.S. but wanted to enter the Canadian market. Amplify launched this campaign during the summer of 2017. With students in different regions across the country, digital was the best medium to reach this market.

Plan:

Amplify delivered a targeted influencer campaign for Ellison eyewear throughout Canada. Our influencers received sunglasses and an invitation to an event in Toronto. They showcased the quality and style on social leading up to the big event. Amplify documented the entire experience, creating content that was channelled through each influencer’s account and digital advertisements for Ellison.

Takeaway:

Amplify drove returns on this campaign during the summer, leveraging student-influencers to reach the core, target demographic.

Unilever

Assignment:

Build awareness of the St. Ives rebrand in order to create excitement and drive sales.

Plan:

Amplify planned an on-campus experience: a “Glow on the Go” sampling bar. Influencers received exclusive invitations with free products before the event, showcasing the rebrand and discussing where and when the experience took place. Influencers participated in the sampling bar, documenting the experience on social, incentivizing others to stop by – driving same day foot-traffic. These influencers reaffirmed brand messaging by distributing content on social, discussing their experience at the event and reviewing the products on multiple platforms.

Takeaway:

Amplify reached 360,000+ students organically with this campaign, and drove 10,000+ student foot-traffic at the on-campus experience.

Barlow Books

Assignment:

Norman Bacal, author of Breakdown and former Managing Partner at Heenan Blaikie had recently published his first novel. The novel shared important lessons learned in rising to the top of a leading Canadian law firm and being part of its collapse. Amplify was tasked with driving awareness of the novel and engaging students on the value within to drive purchasing.

Plan:

Amplify launched a book tour for Norman Bacal. We planned, marketed and live-streamed speaking engagements at 6 schools in Ontario, reaching thousands of students at each engagement. Event promotions were channelled through student influencers who also shared the live-stream and reaffirmed brand messaging and key takeaways, driving traffic to Amazon for purchasing.

Impact:

Amplify helped Breakdown become a Canadian bestseller.
